Adding and Subtracting - Keeping the Columns Straight

Some kids have a difficult time keeping their numbers in the correct columns when adding and subtracting. Here are some grids to help them out. They work great because the numbers are big and kids can see that each box is meant for only one number. The example below is for addition with carrying, but they can also be used for simple addition, subtraction, and subtraction with borrowing. Please feel free to print them out for your personal or classroom use.
