Turkish carpets are world famous. Archaeological evidence suggests that they have been making rugs for over 9000 years.
On our visit to the carpet shop I was amazed to see the quantity of rugs and the varied designs.
Carpet experts can distinguish the region where various rugs were made just by looking at the designs and materials.
The prices range from about $1000-$6000 depending on size, materials and your negotiation skills.
Most carpets are constructed in a few months, but some can take up to five years. We didn't buy any rugs on our visit, but really enjoyed admiring and walking around on them.
