Meat and Potatos - Traditional Austrian Food

Schnitzel, boneless, pounded meat, is a traditional Austrian food. With or without sauce, it is usually made from pork, turkey or chicken and frequently comes breaded.

Pork, potatos and sauerkraut is another traditional Austrian food.

Street markets are common in Europe. In Austria and Germany meat is frequently for sale.

Beer is a traditional German and Austrian food. In the past it was a diet staple as it does provide some nutritional value. Often times in restaurants it is cheaper to order beer than water.

  1. Hello,
First, I must say God bless you and your family.I am so impressed with your strength.
I love all the information about Germany and Austria as we have traveled there years ago now and it is wonderful to remember. Much of it hasn't changed. Our son was unwell while we were in Austria. The care was very good.
My children sometimes still ask for "still vasa".
    :)
